    Top 10 New Upcoming Business Class Seats

    In the post-pandemic race to redefine premium air travel experience, global airline are launching innovative new Business Class offerings that erase the line between first and business class. From enclosed suites with sliding doors to advanced inflight entertainment and tech-powered features, the new generation of long-haul seating is rebranding what passengers can look forward to at 35,000 feet.

    As competition intensifies on transcontinental and intercontinental routes, these upcoming Business Class products reflect not only shifting passenger desires, but also the broader strategy of airlines to differentiate itself in a crowded and competitive global market.

    Qatar Airways QSuite

    10 New Upcoming Business Class Seats

    ⁠1. Qatar Airways QSuite 2.0

    Aircraft: Boeing 777-9
    Expected Entry into Service: Late 2025 or early 2026

    Qatar Airways unveiled its QSuite 2.0 Business Class product at the 2024 Farnborough Airshow, introducing several enhancements over the current Qsuite. The new design builds on the current QSuite with wider dimensions, additional features, and revised aesthetics.

    The Next-Gen QSuite includes a wider seat measuring 23 inches when upright and expanding to 27.5 inches in bed mode, with an overall bed length of 80 inches. Notably, the suite now incorporates a redesigned IFE panel that can be pushed aside in certain seats to create a face-to-face double suite. In the center section, passengers continue to have access to the Quad Suite configuration, allowing two or four suites to be combined for those traveling together.

    New upgrades also include a black marble-effect tabletop, ambient metallic lighting for nighttime visibility, a personal safe, customizable color lighting, USB-C ports, and wireless charging. The in-flight entertainment system features a 22-inch Panasonic Astrova 4K OLED screen.

    The Next-Gen QSuite will be introduced on Qatar Airways’ upcoming Boeing 777X and future Airbus A350 deliveries. Suite height remains at 56.25 inches, and overall pitch is listed at 100 inches. Double beds in the center quad configuration measure 58.6 inches across. Qatar Airways has not yet announced a specific entry-into-service date.

    2. American Airlines Flagship Suites

    Aircraft: Boeing 787-9 (new deliveries), Airbus A321XLR, Boeing 777-300ER (retrofitted)
    Entry into Service: June 2025
    Routes: Chicago–Los Angeles–London, Philadelphia–London/Zurich, Dallas–Brisbane

    American Airlines’ new Flagship Suites will be installed on newly delivered Boeing 787-9s and Airbus A321XLRs. Additionally, the new product will be retrofitted onto the airline’s existing Boeing 777-300ER fleet over time.

    The Flagship Suite is a fully enclosed business class seat with sliding doors, direct aisle access, lie-flat configuration, and multiple storage compartments. The suite design includes adjustable seating that can convert into a lounge-style position, expanded surface space, and illuminated details aligned with the airline’s visual identity. The layout allows some passengers to sit adjacent to a travel companion.

    Each Boeing 787-9 will feature 51 Flagship Suites, whereas the A321XLR will feature 20 suites, marking the introduction of enclosed business class seating on American’s transatlantic narrowbody routes. The retrofitted 20 Boeing 777-300ERs will feature 70 Flagship Suites.

    3. United Polaris Business Class

    Aircraft: Boeing 787-9 (new deliveries), Airbus A321XLR (upcoming)
    Expected Entry into Service: Mid to Late 2025

    United Airlines has announced new Polaris Business Class Suites as part of the new Elevated interior for its Boeing 787-9 fleet. The new cabin will begin service in late 2025, with international flights launching in 2026, starting with routes from San Francisco to Singapore and San Francisco to London.

    At the top of the new cabin offering is Polaris Studio, an ultra-premium business suite located in the first row of each business section. Only eight Polaris Studio seats will be available per aircraft, offering 25% more space than standard Polaris seats. 

    Each features a sliding privacy door, a 27-inch 4K OLED screen (the largest among U.S. carriers), wireless charging, and Bluetooth audio. The rest of the business class cabin will feature 56 new United Polaris suites, now with sliding doors, 19-inch 4K OLED displays, and multiple charging options, including USB-C and wireless. All suites recline into full lie-flat beds with enhanced wool-blend upholstery and Saks bedding.

    United expects to retrofit or receive delivery of 30 new Boeing 787-9s with Elevated interiors by 2027, with Polaris Studio and Polaris suites becoming the new business class standard across its flagship long-haul fleet.

    4. Qantas Project Sunrise Business Class

    Aircraft: Airbus A350-1000
    Expected Entry into Service: 2027
    Routes: Sydney–New York, Sydney–London

    Qantas has unveiled its Project Sunrise Business Class cabins for the Airbus A350, designed for ultra-long-haul flights from Sydney and Melbourne to New York and London. The A350-1000s will feature 52 Business Class seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, each with direct aisle access and sliding doors for privacy. 

    The new Business Class seats can be converted into two-meter flatbeds and will include larger storage. Moreover, it will feature a large dining table, an 18-inch ultra-high definition touchscreen TV, and multiple personal device charging options, including wireless induction charging.

    5. Singapore Airlines A350/B777-9 Business Class

    Aircraft: Airbus A350-900 (retrofitted), Boeing 777-9
    Expected Entry into Service: To be announced

    Singapore Airlines is investing S$1.1 billion to retrofit its Airbus A350-900 fleet and introduce an all-new Business Class cabin. These redesigned seats are modeled on the airline’s future Boeing 777-9 premium cabins and are expected to provide a major comfort upgrade.

    Moreover, the new Business Class seats will feature sliding privacy doors, an improved layout for lie-flat sleeping without the need to rest diagonally, and increased privacy and comfort. These enhancements aim to redefine premium travel, especially on ultra-long-haul routes.

    The retrofit program will be carried out by SIA Engineering Company in Singapore. Once complete, each A350-900ULR aircraft will offer 70 Business Class seats (up from 67), while the standard A350-900s will be fitted with 42 Business Class seats. 

    The first retrofitted aircraft will enter service in the second quarter of 2026, with full completion targeted by the end of 2030.

    6. Air New Zealand Business Premier, Premier Luxe

    Aircraft: Boeing 787-9 (retrofitted)
    Expected Entry into Service: May 2025
    Routes: Auckland–Brisbane, followed by San Francisco, Rarotonga, and Vancouver

    Air New Zealand is set to launch its new Business Premier Suites on the Boeing 787 Dreamliners starting mid-2025, with a complete retrofit of its entire fleet by 2026. The new Business Premier Suites will feature the Safran Visa Business Class seat, designed in a 1-2-1 herringbone configuration, offering fully lie-flat beds. 

    Each seat will be 20.5 inches (52 cm) wide and 80.25 inches (204 cm) long when flat, with a seat shell height of 47 inches (119 cm). The design includes retractable shields for added privacy, though sliding doors are not part of the design.

    The front row will feature Business Premier Luxe suites, offering extra luxury, including sliding privacy doors, larger tables, a buddy seat for face-to-face dining, and more space for relaxation. Each suite will be equipped with a 24-inch IFE screen, USB-A and USB-C charging ports, wireless charging, Bluetooth audio, and AC power outlets.

    Air New Zealand’s Boeing 787 Dreamliners will be configured in two ways: most aircraft will feature 22 Business Premier seats and four Business Premier Luxe Suites, while ultra-long-haul aircraft will have 42 Business Premier seats and eight Business Premier Luxe Suites.

    The retrofit process will be completed by the end of 2026, with the first retrofitted aircraft entering service on May 19, 2025, operating on the Auckland-Brisbane and Auckland-San Francisco routes.

    ⁠7. Riyadh Air B787 Business Elite Suite

    Aircraft: Boeing 787-9
    Expected Entry into Service: Late 2025

    Riyadh Air has unveiled the cabins for its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. With flights set to commence in late 2025, the cabins are aimed at blending Saudi heritage with travel and cutting-edge technology.

    Riyadh Air’s Boeing 787-9s will feature four Business Elite suites located in the aircraft’s first row, configured in a 1-2-1 layout. The front center seats can be converted into a double bed. Alongside the larger 32-inch 4K OLED IFE screen and multiple charging ports, built-in headrest speakers are integrated into the seat.

    Behind the Elite section, Riyadh Air will offer 24 Business Class suites, spread across six rows in a 1-2-1 configuration. Every Business Class seat will have direct aisle access for ease of moving around the cabin and fully flat beds. Just like in Business Elite, the headrests are embedded with Devialet stereo speakers.

    ⁠8. SWISS Senses Business Class

    Aircraft: Airbus A350-900 (new), Airbus A330, and Boeing 777 (retrofitted)
    Expected Entry into Service: Summer 2025

    SWISS is set to debut a new Business Class cabin across its long-haul fleet beginning in 2025. The new product will share the same seating hardware as Lufthansa’s Allegris cabins but will be styled with Swiss-specific materials and finishes.

    The seats will offer direct aisle access for all passengers and a mix of layout options, including classic single suites, extra-long bed configurations, and enclosed seats with sliding doors for added privacy. Paired seating will also be available for travelers flying together.

    Additionally, each seat will include a 17-inch 4K display, wireless device charging, and Bluetooth audio connectivity. Enhanced comfort features, such as seat heating and cooling, will be standard. The cabin design emphasizes privacy and warmth, using a palette of claret and anthracite tones throughout.

    The new Business Class will be introduced first on the Airbus A330-300 fleet, followed by the Boeing 777-300ERs, with new Airbus A350-900s to be delivered with the new cabin already installed.

    ⁠9. Turkish Airlines Crystal Business Class

    Aircraft: Boeing 777, Airbus A350
    Expected Entry into Service: 2025

    Turkish Airlines has revealed its all-new Crystal Business Class suite, marking a major upgrade from the airline’s current 2-3-2 layout. Announced at the 2024 Farnborough International Airshow, the Crystal Business Class adopts a spacious and popular 1-2-1 configuration, ensuring direct aisle access for every passenger.

    Privacy is central to the new design, with high sidewalls and sliding doors for every seat. The middle seats also feature retractable privacy dividers, offering flexibility for both solo travelers and companions. Each seat converts into a fully flat bed with a mattress topper, pillow, and blanket provided.

    Moreover, the suite is built on the Safran Unity platform and manufactured by Turkish Cabin Interiors (TCI), with design cues similar to Japan Airlines’ A350 Business Class and Air India’s new premium cabins. Every suite will offer a 22-inch 4K IFE screen, Bluetooth audio, wireless charging, USB Type-C ports, and universal AC power outlets.

    Retrofitting will begin in May 2026 on the Boeing 777-300ERs, with 50% of the fleet expected to be completed by the end of that year. The new suite will also be installed on Turkish Airlines’ Airbus A350-1000s, which are set to debut on ultra-long-haul routes to Australia, including Sydney and Melbourne, in late 2026.

    10. LOT Polish Recaro Business Class

    Aircraft: Boeing 787-8
    Expected Entry into Service: By 2030

    LOT Polish Airlines is set to revamp its Boeing 787-8 Business Class cabins with Recaro’s CL6720 seats configured in a 1-2-1 configuration. This will replace the existing 2-2-2 layout, offering direct aisle access for all passengers.

    The new Business Class seats will feature sliding privacy doors, 17.3-inch 4K in-flight entertainment screens, wireless charging, USB-C ports, and Bluetooth audio support. Additional storage has also been integrated into the design.

    The retrofit program is being developed in collaboration with Recaro Aircraft Seating, Safran Passenger Innovations, Tangerine Design Studio, and Viasat. The new cabins are expected to enter service progressively through 2026.
